Affiliate Marketing Success Strategies – How Competitive It Really Is

When you watch a soccer game on television, you can easily see how games are won or lost in the battle that takes place on the line of scrimmage.  Offensive plays are designed to defend the quarterback and / or to open holes in the defense so that yardage can be gained.

Defensive plays are designed to sack the quarterback or close holes that would permit yardage to be gained.  Quarterbacks and coaches get the credit for wins and blame for losses but the battle is won or lost in the trenches.

Affiliate promotion is a lot like a soccer game just without the bruises and sore muscles.  An affiliate must design offensive plays and defensive plays that will put him in a position to win the affiliate wars.

When you are one out of many marketers who are making an attempt to sell the same product to the same purchasers, you had better have a scheme to get at least your fair share of the market or more.

Every niche market on the web is highly competitive.  If it isn’t competitive then there can’t possibly be much of a purchaser base to sell to.  That’s just the character of all online marketing and in every niche.

Perhaps you do have a long and electrifying list of paid customers.  That is’s great!  It suggests you have recently won one or two of the affiliate marketing contests and come out on top.  The difficulty is there are always those up and coming marketers who need your customers on their lists.

Your list and your rival’s lists may contain many of the same names and e-mails.  Just having a list will not be enough to reassure you of a victory when selling an affiliate  product.  You’ve got to design some offensive plays that will assure that your customers purchase from you and not from the competition.
So, you ask, what is it that I can do that may assure that my patrons will obtain from me?  The answer’s only one word…  Unique!

You have to be unique.  You’ve got to offer something that sets you fully apart from your competition.  You have got to make your offer for a product or service for which you are an affiliate more attractive to buy from you than it is to purchase from you competitors.

If you simply send out a promoting e-mail pushing a service| product or service| product} that you are an affiliate for, you need to recollect that there are dozens or perhaps even hundreds of other marketers who are sending out selling e-mail advertising the very same service or product and a lot of them are sending them to the same people that you are.  You’ve got to do something to be sure that your clients buy from you…you need to be unique.

There are several paths to achieve uniqueness.  One way is to have established yourself as a pro in the field for which the service is being sold.  You’ve got to have become not only obvious but convincing, as well .  This visibility and credibility isn’t easily achieved.  It takes a lot of tough work, effort and time.

Visibility and credibility are established by taking such measures as writing and selling articles and E-Books, posting to blogs and forums, appearing as very experienced on teleseminars and webinars, and so on.  The fact is that when folks know you and trust you, they buy from you.  They will buy from you even is your competitors are offering a better deal or more inducements.

Folks do not wish to buy from strangers.  The internet is a giant impersonal and even scary place to many purchasers.  They want to feel just like they believe in the people that they buy products and services from.  The time, effort and energy that you put into becoming visible and convincing is the best time, effort and energy investment that you’ll ever make.  Reputation is everything in the world of web marketing.  Credibility makes you unique.

Another important thing that you can do to insure that your customers buy a product| product or service| service} for which you are an affiliate marketer from you and not from one of the competition is to give them an excellent and strong reason to make the purchase from you.  Offer something additional or plenty of different extras that may enhance the value of the product that you are selling.

No matter what the niche or what the product is that is being marketed, there are freebies that you can find which will make the product an improved value if it is purchased from you.

For example : if you’re selling a PDF about internet marketing, you could add a few additional free E-Books concerning different facets of the broad topic of online marketing.

As an example : if you’re selling an ebook about online marketing, you might add one or two additional free E-Books concerning different sides of the broad subject of web marketing.

E-Books can be downloaded from PLR sites or perhaps from ebook banks and repositories.  Another free present that people can’t ever appear to get enough of is free resources.  There are many on the web and you can bet that there are some that will fit right in with whatever service that you’re pushing.

While other marketers who are selling the very same product that you are , simply send out promoting emails that recommend the product to their lists, you’ll be adding value to the product and doing it for free to boot.

Add extras!  Add free gifts!  Even better than extras and free presents is further help to use the service that is being sold.  You can offer a free teleseminar for people that buy the product or service from you that will make the service or product better or simpler to use.

You can very likely even get the producer or the service to talk at your event if you plan far enough ahead.  Folks just love teleseminars…  And they love free…when you add teleseminar and free together, you’ll have a winning play that might just score the proverbial touchdown for you.
