Advanced Tips for Free Website Traffic

Get website traffic. How do you do it and where is the best place to start. You start off by having a good keyword list and go for the lower searched phrases first. It all adds up in the end. You can start by submitting content to the different directories that are out on the web.

In the SEO basics, I take a good look at your competition. What are they doing? What kind of websites are they linking from? What is the page rank of those pages? Find out everything you can about them and do exactly the same thing. For the higher ranking PR sites, you might find yourself buying links. Many people swap services and links. But you’re never going to find out if you don’t ask.

Much of the competition uses Web 2.0 to give their website business a boost. It’s fine to keep an eye out for what your competition does, but that doesn’t necessarily mean you’ll out rank them buy copying what they do. Find out how many links they have going to their website and get more. It’s a lot easier said than done, because you might have to look at the page ranking of the website you’re linking from. A few good links from higher PR ranking websites can put you right up there with your competition.

Writing articles and submitting them to directories is my passion. I’ll typically choose a few to work with because I don’t want my article just to sit their collecting dust. Depending on how the page rank is, will determine if I use that directory or not. I want web masters to put it on their site or in their newsletters.

Put up a blog on your website and refresh it every other day with new content. Get people involved with leaving comments. Have them sign up for a newsletter that you can put together. Offer something good to get them to read what you have to say.

The search engines take a look at niches in a different way I think. If I’m selling fishing gear and I go a website that shows people the best places to fish, I could get an easy link from that website going back to mine. I’ll ask them if I can write an article for their site.

Rather than putting my article in a directory and hoping that someone will pick it up, I’ll go to these web masters and tell them about the content I have that would be perfect for their website. If I give them the content, can I have a link; it usually works out for the best. It’s a lot easier than people think. People value good content on their websites. This is just one tip that most people over look.

If my content is good, I can even get paid for the article. Many times a website will want content that is written just for them. With a link going back to your website this could be a good thing. Now you know my secret to get website traffic to my site.
